Litigation deadlines

Armed deadline watches across all matters, soonest first. Each watch arms when staff fire a playbook step on a case; the evaluator escalates any whose gate wasn't logged in time. Fire a step or log a gate event from the case's Litigation tab.

What is this page, and what can I do here?

Why it exists. Every litigation matter carries hard court and statutory deadlines — serve the defendant, file a response, meet a discovery cutoff. Missing one can sink a case. This page is the firm-wide safety net that watches those deadlines across all matters in one place, so nothing slips through the cracks.

Where the deadlines come from. A “watch” arms automatically when staff fire a playbook step on a case's Litigation tab. Each watch knows which gate event has to be logged, and by when. You don't create watches here — they land here on their own.

What the statuses mean:
  • Armed — counting down, on track. The gate hasn't been logged yet but there's still time.
  • Escalated — the deadline passed without the gate being logged. These need attention today; they're why this page exists.
  • Resolved — the gate was logged (or the matter closed). Nothing to do.
What you can do here:
  • Scan soonest-first and work the red / escalated rows before they become a problem.
  • Open the matter (from its Litigation tab) to log the gate event or fire the next step — that's what clears a watch.
  • Extend a deadline right from its row if the court granted more time — the countdown updates.
  • ⚖️ Evaluate now forces an immediate re-check instead of waiting for the scheduled run (which happens on its own in the background).
  • ↻ Refresh just reloads the current list from the database.
